2. Divide this by the time of your trip in hours.

Your Motor used a 20 litre tank of fuel.
What is your fuel consumption rate?
Time = 4 hours
Fuel = 20 litres
Rate = ?
Now put these numbers into the formula.
Rate = Fuel ÷ Time
Rate = 20 ÷ 4
Rate = 5 l/h
Your boat uses 5 litres every hour.
