Weather Fronts - Troughs

The dotted lines are troughs.

Trough is a line of low pressure.

Think of a trough like a valley. Wind flows towards it.

Troughs have stormy unsettled weather.

The dot-dash line in northern Australia is called the monsoon trough.

The monsoon trough brings rain and storms to the north in the wet season.
