Degrees are used to give accurate courses, headings and bearings.
Example:
- Steer a course of 045°
- Lighthouse at a bearing of 290°
A course is the direction in degrees you want your boat to go.
A course is plotted on a chart.
Course: 052°
A course of 052° plotted on a marine chart.
